The 11th annual Winnipeg Comedy Festival in review

Mommy, it’s over! The 11th annual Winnipeg Comedy Festival – titled The End is Near? – wrapped up 10 days of funny on Sunday. Here are a few acts that made an impression (besides Vancouver comic Patrick Maliha, who does a spot-on Tony Montana).
The Big Dirty: Scott Thompson
The Kids in the Hall member has never been one to bite his tongue and beating cancer has only made him more uncensored. Hosting The Dark and Stormy Show, Thompson professed his love of “the funk”, not the music mind you, but the nitty gritty details of gay sex. The homosexual comedian’s adoration of foreskin, pubic hair and bathhouses induced lots of laughter, often of the uncomfortable sort, which is exactly the response a great stand-up should get.
