During this year’s edition of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Free Press will once again be inviting some of the fest’s top performers to its News Café (237 McDermot Ave.) for a series of noon-hour conversations about what makes funny folks so funny.
Drop in, if you can, for a sandwich and a giggle; if you can’t escape your workplace to make it to the café, you can watch the interviews as they’re streamed live at www.winnipegfreepress.com.
Here’s the schedule of Comedy Fest interviews at the Free Press News Café:
- Wednesday: Steve Patterson (host of CBC’s The Debaters, recently named Canada’s top male standup)
- Thursday: Michael Winslow (the “human sound-effects machine,” best known for his work in the Police Academy movies)
- Friday: Kevin McDonald & Scott Thompson of The Kids in the Hall
